At the heart of this upgrade is the IHI VB43 factory turbocharger, modified by retaining only the turbine housing and compressor face. Each component is thoroughly inspected and machined to fit our custom upgrades. Our modifications allow for increased airflow, reduced backpressure, and enhanced efficiency, all while maintaining the durability and reliability you expect from an OEM-based product.
The S-400 turbo features our custom 7+7 blade, height-increased flank-milled compressor wheel and 9 blade larger Inconel turbine. This design optimizes airflow and improves boost response, allowing for fast spool times and higher peak power. You can expect lightning-fast response and more accessible power throughout the rev range, keeping your GR Corolla as sharp and agile as the rally-bred machine it was designed to be.
One of the standout features of the S-400 Turbocharger Upgrade is the brand-new CHRA (Center Housing Rotating Assembly). We chose not to reuse the original ball-bearing assembly because doing so would introduce a risk of failure due to the press-fit nature of the turbine shaft and ball bearings. By utilizing a brand-new ball-bearing assembly, we’ve eliminated the potential for misalignment or premature wear, ensuring long-lasting performance and peace of mind.
This upgrade also improves turbo reliability under high-stress conditions, meaning you can push your GR Corolla harder for longer periods without worrying about component fatigue.
