If you've ever seen the inlet pipe to the throttle body to the Toyota 2.4L T24A-FTS, you'd see it is a literal joke for airflow into the engine. Without knowing the OEMs intent for sure, we see it being a manufacturing process/material decision coupled with installation. Being made from injection molded nylon, the molding process determined much of the exiting shape. We could be wrong but that is our best guess here.
Seeing this pipe as a problem when much of the intake tract is over 2.5in in diameter, the OEM pipe crimping down to 1.5in ID at its worst point seems like it would cause a problem.
After 3D scanning the OEM pipe, we got to work on making it as large as possible while still making it as easy to install as possible. We managed to create what you see here, which absolutely swallows the OEM pipe up.

Here is a prototype next to the OEM pipe in real life!

The pipe itself will be cast aluminum, welded to the throttle body flange CNC machined from aluminum as well. This is a rendering of what the final part will look like.

Dyno testing and more info coming ASAP as soon as we get this tested!

Looks like a very solid piece. Please let me know when it is available.
Pretty sure a lot will ask… Will this mod void your warranty? The short answer is yes and no. It ultimately depends on the situation. No, it will not automatically void your factory warranty. For example, if your rear differential, window regulator, headlight ballast, dash, or infotainment system fails, Toyota cannot deny coverage simply because of this mod, or even mods like intake or boost tubes, since they have no relation to those components.
However, Toyota can and will deny a warranty claim if the issue is directly or indirectly related to the modification. If the engine seizes (or blows), valves burn, misfires occur from lean conditions, or the turbo develops shaft play or fails, they will likely argue that the mod caused certain components to operate under false or improper conditions, which ultimately led to the failure of the affected component, and will void coverage for those repairs.
If this is NOT legal in CA, then move away from CA—Problem solved!
This looks like it will be an amazing upgrade. Looking forward to hearing more about the testing and performance. It’ll be another addition to my SXTH lineup. Thanks for the continued innovation of products for our Toyota trucks.
Can wait to get this installed!
Please email me when I can order this as I would love to have it installed on my 4Runner
Keep up the good work great work
That’s all well and good, but you don’t mention CARB approval in California. Is this gonna be another one of those months long ordeals where you tease us with new product but out here in California we can’t have it?
This mods will not void warranty?would love to have on my truck.
Sign me up I would love to have that on my truck
