That factory elbow is where the path chokes: it necks down to about 46mm at its tightest point, and every bit of air your turbo produces has to squeeze through it.

Pressure drop across a restriction climbs fast as the passage shrinks, so the tighter that elbow gets, the harder the turbo works to hold the same boost at the manifold. The engine still gets its air. It just pays for it.

A full 61.5mm, end to end.

The SXTH Element Throttle Body Inlet replaces the factory elbow with an internal diameter of 61.5mm, about 79% more cross-sectional area than the factory part at its narrowest. The restriction between your charge pipe and your throttle body is gone, and the turbo breathes against less resistance across the rev range.

Dyno testing is in progress, and results will be posted here when they're final.

Cast, welded, and seamless where the air actually flows.

The tube is cast aluminum, so the passage holds a smooth, consistent shape through the bend as one continuous piece. The flange is machined from billet 6061 aluminum for a flat, true sealing face. The two are TIG welded with back purging, and the joint is finished so there is no seam, step, or weld bead on the inside of the passage. Air moving through this inlet never crosses a weld. The airflow path is seamless from the charge pipe flange to the throttle body.

Bolt it on.
